52% Grenache, 48% Mourvedre
Central Coast, California
This wine is 52% Grenache and 48% Mourvedre. The majority of Grenache and all of the Mourvedre grapes were sourced from Vista Serrano Vineyard, located on the West side of Paso Robles. The soils at this hillside vineyard are rocky loam with limestone striated throughout. The remainder of the Grenache was sourced from the Demeter certified biodynamic Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard in the coastal Edna Valley, six miles from the Pacific Ocean. All the grapes were picked early for rosé.
The Vista Serrano Grenache and Mourvedre lots fermented seperately in a combination of mostly stainless steel tank and neutral barrels. The SLV Grenache was neutral barrel fermented. All the must went through malolactic fermentation. The rosé components were blended together in January, fined with bentonite and cold stabilized. The finished wine was bottled in early March. Only 600 cases produced.
