VINEYARD
The 2023 Pinot Noir is a blend from 6 vineyards from two appellations: Bien Nacido, Rancho Real, and Rancho Ontiveros in the Santa Maria Valley and Rancho La Cuna, Los Alamos and Kick-On in Santa Barbara County.
CELLAR
The hand harvested fruits is fermented in open top tanks which are punched down by hand twice a day until dry (about two weeks). The wine is pressed and put into barrel with plenty of lees to give the wine complexity and depth. The wine is transferred to mostly neutral François Frères French oak (about 10% new) aging 12 months in barrel. The wine is racked and lightly fined with egg whites before bottling unfiltered.
