The fruit for this wine sourced 100% from the Talley Vineyard in the Arroyo Grande Valley, which is a southeast facing site planted with Pinot Noir clone 2A.
The fruit is fermented in open top tanks with about 50% whole-clusters, which receive daily manual punch downs. The fruit is then pressed and transferred to new Francois Freres French oak barrels and aged for 18 months. The wine is lightly fined with egg whites as needed and bottled unfiltered.
