Central Coast, California
VINEYARD
This wine is 40% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre and 20% Syrah. The Grenache and Mourvedre grapes were sourced from Vista Serrano Vineyard, located on the West side of Paso Robles. The soils at this hillside vineyard are rocky loam with limestone striated throughout. The Syrah was sourced from Rancho Arroyo Grande Vineyard in the hills above the coastal Arroyo Grande Valley, located thirteen miles from the Pacific Ocean with fossilized marine soil. All the grapes were picked early for rosé.
CELLAR
The Vista Serrano Grenache and Mourvedre, were whole cluster pressed. The Syrah was de-stemmed and soaked on the skins before being pressed. The Vista Serrano Grenache & Mourvedre lots fermented together in stainless steel tank and the Syrah was fermented separately and blended prior to bottling. The rosé components were blended together in January, fined with bentonite and cold stabilized. The finished wine was bottled in early February. Only 604 cases produced.
